Hart/Wilcox/Fish Family

We love being able to keep in touch with couples from weddings we’ve photographed, and it’s even more fun when they ask us for another session down the road. We photographed both of these sister’s weddings and got to know their families pretty well. They were looking for a fun, relaxed session with the sisters, their husbands, and their parents, and we were able to go out to a cool new location, the Lilly property in Mendota Heights, for the shoot. There were two great barns, tall grasses, and amazing big clouds in the sky. What great fun!

Amy

What an inspiring photo shoot! Amy took it upon herself to work on being fit and strong and we did her session to celebrate that great accomplishment. We had a lot of fun!

Now, I’m off to the gym.

Photos for Haiti — Day 2

The second day of our sessions for Haiti consisted mainly of families (so much fun!)… here’s a sneak peek from those sessions:

Photos for Haiti — Day 1

This last weekend we photographed sessions at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis to raise money for Haiti (February 13th and 14th). After all is said and done, we anticipate money raised to be between $2,000 and $3,000. Thanks so much to everyone who booked a session! Check out the organization that the proceeds will go to: http://www.worldvision.org.

Here is a sneak peek for the first day we photographed… we’ll be posting another blog post for Day 2 soon:

Photo Day for Haiti — February 13th, 2010

Haiti has been on my mind lately. I watch news coverage in the middle of the night while I feed little Jude. It hurts my heart to see people in such need.

The other night after a particularly long feeding, and after watching some of the coverage, I laid Jude back into his crib, crawled into bed and said a prayer for the people of Haiti. And then it struck me. Here I was, snuggling into my nice warm bed, my husband beside me. Our new baby was safe in a crib just an arm’s reach away. Our 2 and 4 year old were sleeping peacefully in the room next to us. I had just chugged a huge glass of clean, fresh water.

I started to think about how lucky I am. How small the worries in my life really are, compared to the worries that the Haitian people are facing. They are facing such heavy worries right this very minute. Not knowing where to go. Where to sleep. Where they will get their next meal. Where their families are. They estimate that there are now around 1 million orphans in Haiti. Wow.

We want to do something.

And that’s where you come in.

On February 13th and 14th, 2010 we will be holding photo sessions all day to raise money for the people of Haiti. If you would like your family, child, selves photographed at a great location (The Guthrie in Minneapolis) for a great cause (the people who have been affected by the earthquake in Haiti), give us a call!

We will be booking 45 minute sessions throughout the day, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Sessions begin at the top of each hour.

All proceeds from the session fees and print sales will go directly to World Vision International (http://www.worldvision.org/).

e.kate designs

“e.kate designs” is a jewelry and clothing line found on Etsy. She is an amazing designer and her work was a real pleasure to photograph. We’d highly recommend checking it out… and just in time for Valentine’s Day too! (http://www.etsy.com/shop/ekate).

Blog Update…

So, we’re finally getting back into blogging mode. Getting to know our little one and getting used to being a family of 5 has been so great. We’ve taken some time to do that, with a few photo sessions here and there. We appreciate all of your patience and support as we’ve made this transition and your continuing support as we get back into the swing of things!

We put together a few of our favorite photos from sessions we’ve done since our blogging hiatus. This post is a range of baby, family, engagement and kid sessions.

Happy 2010!

Amanda and Luke — 5 Year Anniversary Session

We photographed Amanda and Luke at their home in Inver Grove Heights, as well as a park nearby. We were caught in a surprise rainstorm, but with the help of robes and an umbrella, we managed to make our way to the park, and have a great time. Congrats on 5 years, Amanda and Luke!

Erin Kate and Ben’s White Light Party

Erin Kate and Ben invited us out to their beautiful home to photograph a backyard “white light” party. We did a fun mix of portraits and candids of their guests. We really enjoy photographing their parties– they’re such a mix of casual, class, and fun.

Matt and Jamie/Under Spates Ave.

This was a fun portrait session photographing Matt and Jamie at their house in Wayzata. The great thing about their house is that Jamie’s great grandfather actually built it. They were looking for some cool portraits showing the space, and also to recreate an old photo taken of her grandfather’s family outside the house.

Matt is also in a band called “Under Spates Ave.” (they said the name is from their practice space, in the basement of Matt and Jamie’s house which is on Spates Ave.), so we also did a band photo session with the guys.
