Jason and Katie’s Engagement Session

We set out to photograph Katie and Jason at the Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. We were able to sneak some fair weather shots just before the lovely cloudy evening (which according to weather.com wasn’t supposed to produce rain) quickly turned into a heavy downpour. We decided to drive down the road to see if we could find a dry place to shoot and ended up knocking on the door of a kindly fella who didn’t even blink at the request for us to use his barn. (We didn’t catch your name, but THANK YOU!) We were drenched by the end of the session, but it was fun going with the flow!

The Ervin Family

I photographed the amazing, energetic Ervin family and had a blast! As you can imagine, there is a lot of chaos when it comes to 6 kids (2 sets of twins) but the love the family has is wonderful. They’ve been through many trials in the recent months, including Sean being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but you can see how strong they’ve become as a family through it all.

That is the most beautiful picture if a wedding dress I have ever seen! The rest of the pics are also stunning, but that wedding dress hanging in that window with that lighting — WOW!

Jenna — 2010 Simley High School Senior

I had a lot of fun photographing Jenna. The light/weather that day was amazing… mostly cloudy, and cool. Her dance background made her a natural with posing. She also did a great job putting up with the many mosquitoes buzzing around!

Sarah Prosen – 2009 World Games Silver Medalist

I had the opportunity to photograph Sarah Prosen this week, who just won the silver medal in the double-mini trampoline at the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (the competition is essentially the Olympics for her sport). Sarah will be a junior at Hamline University and this shoot was for Hamline Magazine.

We met at Gleason’s Gymnastic School, which is her practice gym in Eagan, MN, and it was such fun photographing her at work. The way the double-mini trampoline works, is you get a running start (similar to the vault) and jump onto a trampoline that’s slanted upward where you do your first trick, then land on a flat trampoline where you bounce to a second trick and onto the landing mat. Challenging? Yea. It was amazing to photograph, and she wasn’t even doing her difficult jumps.

That made me dizzy. Seriously though, you’ve captured Sarah looking amazing even up-side-down, not to mention her perfectly centered position about the trampoline!
