Ella Grace

Ella Grace is just 10 days old. We were told she’s a really sleepy baby, but there’s something about getting your photos taken that sends a “stay awake!” message to even the sleepiest of babies. Just a little close snuggling with her daddy, though, and she drifted off… and there’s nothing more precious than a sleeping newborn.

Congratulations to you guys! You have a beautiful new daughter. And, Chloe, you’re going to be an amazing big sister! You were awesome this evening.

Mr. Thomas Merrill

We had so much fun photographing Tommy! At 7 weeks old, he was ready to party and not all that interested in sleep… he wowed us with a few of his emerging smiles and plenty of his furrowed “thinking eyebrows” and later, with a little coaxing from his mommy and daddy, he managed to nod off for a moment.

Thanks, Carrie and Brad for a great time. Little Tommy is beautiful, we see so much of both of you in him! Congratulations to you!

Sierra Skye

Newborns are such amazing miracles. I’m getting goose bumps just now, because as I was writing this our little 20 month old said, “I… wuv… you… mommy.” They start as these precious bundles, not really knowing anything but the voice of their mommy or the gentle comfort of their daddy. Then they progress to little balls of energy, running here and there… every once in a while stopping to say, “I love you!” Someday they’ll more than likely venture off into the world of parenthood themselves. What an amazing thing, this cycle that constantly brings little angels to our midst.

On that note, yesterday we had the pleasure of photographing Sierra Skye… just 10 days old, and so very precious! Thank you Levi and Stephanie for the great time! We had a lot of fun hanging out with you and your new little one. Congratulations on your beautiful little gift!

P.S. As Sierra was taking a little photo break I was able to catch a few photos of one of their cats. She just came and curled up in the perfect spot, so I couldn’t resist!

Kevin and Jo

Yesterday we took Kevin and Jo’s engagement photos in the sub-zero temperatures of the wonderful city of St. Paul. We were planning on shooting a majority of the photos outdoors, but it truly was FREEZING!! The windchill was around -10 degrees, so we braved the cold for short bursts of time, then split the rest of our time between the James J. Hill Library and the Landmark Center. We had a lot of laughs and gained a new appreciation for the warmth of the indoors.

Kevin and Jo, we had so much fun and are looking forward to shooting your wedding! Hope your toes had a chance to thaw out on your way back to Fargo!
